EmpowHERment: Women’s History Month
This presentation underscores why we have a month dedicated to these and other, unsung heroes who used their voice and choice to create a more tolerant, equal society for people of all backgrounds. Through the stories of visionaries such as Adrianne Rich, Rosa Parks, Sr. Theresa and others, we explore the challenges, achievements and legacies each person has contributed through their unique and essential voice so that participants understand how they can benefit from the works of these visionaries today. Using song, story telling and research packed multi media, this Project Campus Life program explores how we continue to benefit from the works of these visionaries today and how we can continue their work in the future. This presentation provides:
- Insights and empathy for issues facing women and girls today in schools, colleges and in the workplace
- Strategies to create a school of inclusion and tolerance
- Empowerment techniques students can use to grow their voice
- Compelling questions students should ask about what injustices they need to take a stand for
- Skills to overcome personal and campus obstacles
